TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Student Eligibility and Fitness to Drive

  • Driving Licence: Students must hold a current, valid UK driving licence (provisional or full) and present it at the first lesson. you must show it on our first lesson or your lesson could be terminated and no refund would be available.  
     
  • Medical Fitness: Students should inform you of any medical conditions, disabilities, or injuries that may affect their ability to drive safely. If you are suspected of being unfit your lesson will be terminated and no refund for that lesson will be available.
     
  • Alcohol and Drugs: Students must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any medication that impairs driving ability. if suspected you are impaired in any way when i turn up, your lesson will be cancelled and no refund would be available
     

2. Lesson Scheduling and Cancellations

  • Booking Lessons: Lessons should be scheduled at mutually agreed times.
     
  • Cancellation Policy: A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling.  
     
  • Late Arrivals: Late arrivals may result in a shortened lesson duration, with the full lesson fee applicable.
     

3. Use of Instructor's Vehicle for Driving Test

The use of my vehicle for your driving test is a privilege and is subject to my professional assessment of your driving proficiency. If I determine that you have not reached the required standard for the driving test, I reserve the right to refuse the use of my vehicle for the test. This decision is made to ensure safety and uphold the integrity of the driving examination process.

In such cases, I will provide you with reasonable notice and discuss alternative arrangements, which may include:

  • Assisting you in identifying areas for improvement.
     
  • Recommending additional lessons or practice sessions.
     
  • Advising on the appropriate timing for rebooking the driving test.
     

Please understand that this policy is in place to support your development as a competent and safe driver. Your safety and the safety of others on the road are my utmost priorities.


4. Payment Terms and Methods

To ensure a smooth and efficient learning experience, the following payment terms apply:

  • Advance Payment: All lessons must be paid for at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson time. This policy helps in managing scheduling effectively and ensures commitment from both parties.
     
  • Preferred Payment Method: The preferred method of payment is via bank transfer. This method is secure, efficient, and allows for proper record-keeping.
     
  • Cash Payments: While cash payments are accepted, they are not the preferred method. If a lesson is cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice and payment is made in cash, future lessons will require payment via bank transfer in advance only. This policy ensures consistency and proper financial management.
     

By adhering to these payment terms, we can maintain a professional and efficient learning environment.


5. Communication Methods and Response Times

To maintain clear and efficient communication, I prefer to be contacted via text message or WhatsApp. These platforms provide a written record of our interactions, ensuring clarity and accountability for both parties.

Business Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
     
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
     
  • Sunday: Closed
     

Messages received outside of these business hours will be addressed during the next business day. I do not respond to non-urgent messages outside of these hours to maintain a healthy work-life balance and ensure prompt attention to all inquiries.

For urgent matters requiring immediate attention, please indicate the urgency in your message, and I will make every effort to respond as promptly as possible.

By adhering to these communication guidelines, we can ensure a professional and efficient learning experience.  


6. Pupil Data Protection

I am committed to protecting your personal information and ensuring its confidentiality. In accordance with UK data protection laws, including the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General  

Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), I adhere to the following practices:

  • Data Sharing: Your personal details will not be shared with any third parties, except when required by a government agency or as mandated by law.
     
  • Data Retention: All communication records, including text messages and WhatsApp conversations, will be retained for a maximum of six months from the date of our last contact. After this period, these records will be securely deleted.
     
  • Extended Retention: In certain circumstances, such as ongoing complaints or legal matters, I reserve the right to retain communication records beyond the six-month period. This extended retention will be limited to the duration necessary to resolve the issue at hand.
     

By engaging in driving lessons with me, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal


7. Refund Policy

To ensure clarity and fairness, the following refund policy applies:

  • Lessons Taken or Cancelled on Short Notice: No refunds are available for lessons that have been taken or cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice.
     
  • Unused Hours: Any remaining prepaid hours can be refunded upon request, refund will be processed within 5 days of request.
     
  • Inactivity: If lessons are discontinued by the pupil and no contact has been made within 6 months, no refund will be issued for any remaining prepaid hours.
     
  • Quality of Lessons: Refunds are not available if the pupil is dissatisfied with the quality of the lesson. It is the pupil's responsibility to communicate any concerns during or immediately after the lesson to allow for prompt resolution.
     

By engaging in driving lessons, you acknowledge and agree to these refund terms.


8. Responsibility for Traffic Offences

As a learner driver, you are responsible for adhering to all traffic laws and regulations during driving lessons. If you are caught committing a traffic offence, such as speeding through speed traps or speed cameras, you will be liable for any fines, penalty points, or other penalties associated with that offence.

In the event of a traffic offence during a lesson, the following applies:

  • Notification: You will be informed of the offence and the associated penalties as soon as possible.
     
  • Payment of Fines: You are responsible for promptly paying any fines or penalties incurred.
     
  • Penalty Points: Any penalty points will be added to your provisional driving licence.
     

By engaging in driving lessons, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for your actions on the road, including any traffic offences committed during lessons.  


9. Responsibility for Vehicle Damage During Lessons and Driving Tests

As a learner driver, you are responsible for the condition of the vehicle during both driving lessons and driving tests. In the event of any damage caused to the vehicle under the following circumstances, you will be required to cover the costs of repair:

  • During Driving Lessons:
     
  • Malicious Damage: Intentional harm or vandalism to the vehicle.
     
  • Reckless Driving: Driving in a manner that is careless or inconsiderate, leading to damage.
     
  • During Driving Tests:
     
  • Minor Damage: Damage resulting from actions such as hitting the kerb or other similar incidents.  
     

By engaging in driving lessons and tests, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for any damage caused to the vehicle under these circumstances.


10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

I reserve the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you through appropriate channels, such as email or direct communication, and will become effective upon notification. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically to stay informed of any updates. By continuing to engage in driving lessons or related services after such changes, you accept and agree to the updated terms.
